Jamb Announces new date for 2020/2021 Post-Utme Screening

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has announce new date for 2020/2021 Post UTME screening.

The Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening for 2020/2021 for tertiary institutions in Nigeria admission will now commence on 7th of September 2020.

This was disclose at a meeting between the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination and Vice chancellor’s, Rectors and Provost of tertiary institutions on Monday.

Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the jamb registrar said the screening would now hold between September 7 and November 18.

The board has issued a guideline for all tertiary institutions to begin their admission with effect from August 20 before. Prof Is-haq Oloyede said the adjustment in the date would allow students taking 2020 O’level examination to be able to participate in the screening exercise. 

He said, “ presently as you were aware, WAEC commence the Senior School Certificate Examination on August 17, it will go on till September 7.

“Similarly, on September 21 or thereabouts, NABTEB will commence its examination that will go on till 15th of October and Immediately after that, NECO starts on the 5th of October and will hold till 18th of November

Rather than making candidates run, particularly, when they will have to write their school certificate exam in different towns and rush to University elsewhere for Post Utme, Like somebody rushing from Nasarawa to Ibadan for Post Utme, We believe as a Custodian of the highest sector of education system, we should avoid that.

For those whose institutions who want to take Post Utme, that cannot be earlier than 7th of September and it will be held twice- September to October 4, and that will be held for the second time on the 18th of November to mop up those taking their School Certificate Examination.
